Simon Baker as Patrick Jane a Mentalist which became an independent consultant for a fictional version of the California Bureau of Investigation (CBI) based in Sacramento, California.
Although he was not any law officer, he used the skills of a former career as a successful psychic medium (a ruse, because he did not believe anyone actually has psychic abilities) to assist a team of CBI agent solve the problem of evil, in the hope that one day Red brings John, murderer of his wife, Angela, and daughter, Charlotte, to court.
