Hawaii Five o Series - The show featured a fictional state police unit run by Detective Steve McGarrett, played by actor Jack Lord.
Joining McGarrett is Detective Danny "Danno" Williams (Scott Caan), a newly relocated ex-New Jersey cop who prefers skyscrapers to the coastline but is committed to keeping the Islands safe for his 8-year-old daughter; and Chin Ho Kelly (Daniel Dae Kim), an ex-Honolulu Police
Detective wrongly accused of corruption and relegated to a federal security patrol, who is also a former protégé of McGarrett's father. Peter Lenkov, Alex Kurtzman and Roberto Orci are executive producers for CBS Television Studios.
It appears that CBS kept all the parts of the original show that worked and updated the parts needed to be modernized. Alex O'Loughlin comes in as Commander Steve McGarrett of the U.S. Navy. He is recruited by the Governor of Hawaii to lead a special team to help rid the state of the worst of the worst criminals. I love O’Loughlin.
Scott Caan is recruited as a New Jersey detective, Danny Williams, transplanted to Hawaii to be close to his daughter. I was wondering how they were going to work this character as a Hawaii resident.
Hawaii Five o Series : McGarrett is now an ex-special forces Commander who is action-oriented and the cases they will be dealing with are going to be a bit larger than your typical cop show. Overuse of fire fights. Underuse of guest stars. William Sadler was cast as John McGarrett, Steve’s father and got less than two minutes of screen time.
