Traffic accidents are the leading cause of death and serious injuries in the United States. According to the American National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), more than 6.3 million police reported motor vehicle accidents occurred in the United States in 2003.
Almost a third of road accidents because of an injury to a driver or passenger, pedestrian or about 38,000 and resulted in at least one death.
In 2006 there were 4,341,688 car accidents in the United States with 17 800 prisoners mortally wounded.
These impressive statistics, it's no wonder that many believe are traffic accidents are the leading cause of preventable deaths in the coming years.
